GUIDANCE  NEWS

Students, be sure you are checking Miss Duckro's guidance webpage frequently for information about college visits, college fairs, and scholarships. 

 

Any student interested in participating in College Credit Plus next year MUST turn in an "Intent to Participate" form! These forms are due March 28! If you are currently a CCP student, you still have to complete a new Intent form to continue participating next school year. You are strongly encouraged to turn a form in even if you are not certain you want to participate.  Once you turn in your Intent to Participate form, you can begin the application process by visiting Sinclair's website: www.sinclair.edu. Stop by the guidance office for the Intent form and visit Ms. Duckro's web page for more information about CCP!

 

SENIORS

Attention Seniors: If you are interested in learning a skilled trade, Dillard Electric is seeking high school graduates who are eager to learn and build a career as an electrician. Please stop by the guidance office if you would like more information about this opportunity. 

 

Seniors: The Brookville Teachers' Association (BTA) awards two separate $500.00 nonrenewable scholarships. The Janet Kinsel scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who intends to pursue a four-year degree and the Lillian Brelsford scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who intends to pursue a degree and career in some aspect of education. Stop by the guidance office to pick up an application. They are due May 1st. 

Also, the Brookville School Employees Association (BSEA) will award a $500 nonrenewable scholarship to any graduating senior who is pursuing a 2-year degree at a college or technical school. Applications are in the guidance office and these are due May 1st. 

 

Seniors, please don't forget to turn in your applications for the Brookville Community and Albert Gruenig scholarships. These are both due to the guidance office on April 9th. Keep in mind that this due date is right after spring break so we encourage you to turn them in before spring break starts. Stop by the guidance office with any questions. 

 

PROM INFO

Outside guest forms are on the counter now for prom.  They are due back Thurs. March 28th by 3p.m. NO EXCEPTIONS. 

 

Prom picture packets are also now on the counter. Get yours today!

 

Prom tickets are on sale now through Thursday, March 28th ONLY.  Get yours at lunch or after school in Mrs. Stammen’s room.  Cost is $45.  If you buy your tickets early, you get to choose your tables when you buy your tickets.

 

After Prom tickets will go on sale from Thursday, March 21st until Thursday April 11th. Tickets are $5 per person and may be purchased at lunch or before/after school from Mrs. Herbert and Mr. Lamb in room 324.  After Prom will be from 11p.m.-2a.m. and there will be LOTS of prizes and food! Come join the fun!

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

Need community service hours? Want to give back to the community? Then come work for the Clothes Drive! Come to the office and get details or look on the bulletin boards.

 

MISCELLANEOUS

Jostens will be here on Monday, March 25th at lunch to deliver caps/gowns and graduation announcements.  Your order must be paid in full to pick up on delivery day.  They will be taking late graduation orders and class ring orders as well.  Please call Jostens with any questions at 937-280-4350! 

 

Anyone interested in a summer job here at the school that is 18 years of age should see Mr. Petry or stop by the office.

On Wednesday, March 27th during lunch, Home City Ice will be here to talk to potential juniors and seniors about summer job and potential after high school job opportunities as well.

 

Miss Hunley's class wants to encourage everyone to increase recycling around the high school. Recycling reduces the amount of waste, conserves natural resources, prevents pollution, and saves energy. Miss Hunley's class will be collecting recycling bins on Wednesday and Friday mornings during first period. Attention staff and students: Link Crew is encouraging you to bring in your Box Tops.  You can drop them off in the high school office.  We appreciate you help!

 

After school job opportunity here in town doing light assembly M-Thursday from 3-6p.m.  Pay is $11-12 an hour.  Stop by the office for details. 

 

The lost and found will be cleaned out before spring break. If you are missing anything, please stop down before you leave!
