Rotary Club Gives Final Recognition of 2012 School Year
Tuesday, May 8 the Brookville Rotary Club recognized Students and Teacher of the Month for the final time this school year. Rotarians were very impressed with this month’s recipients. Students of the Month included seniors Renee Wilson and Brandon Roberts. The Teacher of the Month was Intermediate School Teacher Ms. Melissa Iser.
Renee Wilson has been an office aide and Link Crew Leader. She has also been an accomplished member of the schools drama club. Renee participated in both productions performed by the drama club this school year. In each of these roles she has shown leadership and a willingness to help. Along with her activities, Renee has shared her academic abilities by tutoring freshman in Algebra I, two nights a week.
Brandon Roberts was noted by school staff as being a hard worker who has set lofty goals for himself. Brandon was singled out for understanding how to dedicate himself to achieve those goals. He has been an anchor for our football team over recent years and tutors two freshman students after school simply to help them be successful.
Ms. Iser teaches special needs students at Brookville Intermediate. She has proven herself to be very flexible and caring with students. Her recognition includes being known to go the extra mile for each child in development of their life skills and academic abilities. Standardized test scores for her students have been excellent this year. She has proven to be a wonderful asset to the Brookville teaching staff.
Rotarians were happy to share lunch and conversation with these individuals. The club looks forward to resuming this recognition next October.
