Important Update: Transition to Remote Learning Day
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
In preparation for potential additional school closures, Superintendent Jason Wood will formally announce a calamity day, designating that day as a Remote Learning Day (also referred to as e-Learning, e-day, or Blizzard Bags). While our school buildings will remain closed and students should not report to campus, our learning continues from home.
Please review the following schedule and expectations to ensure a productive day:
1. Accessing Assignments
Time: Students and parents should check for work by 8:30 a.m.
Platforms: Teachers will provide assignments and instructions through ParentSquare, Google Classroom, or previously distributed paper packets.
Tip: Ensure you have a quiet space ready for today's activities.
2. Expectations & Deadlines
Participation: Although we are not meeting in person, students are expected to complete the assignments provided to them to receive credit for the day.
Flexibility: To allow for flexibility, students will have five (5) school days from today to submit their completed work unless otherwise directed by the teacher.
3. Student Support
Availability: Teachers will be available to answer questions and provide support throughout the traditional school day, specifically from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Contact Methods: You may reach staff via email, ParentSquare, or Google Meet.
4. Technology & Accommodations
We understand that circumstances may vary for families. If a student is unable to participate due to technology issues or other extenuating circumstances, please be sure to communicate with your child’s teacher(s) so that appropriate accommodations can be made.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support as we work to maintain consistent learning during unexpected school closures.
Sincerely,
The Brookville Local Schools Administrative Team
